In Memoriam – Lee Giller

Susan G. Komen Northeast Ohio, the Akron community, and the world lost a friend, advocate, and leader in the fight against breast cancer this past weekend.  Lee Giller left an indelible mark on everyone he touched.  He was an amazing father and husband, a successful businessman, and a mentor and gentle soul to all.  Lee always took the time to counsel those fighting breast cancer and was always willing to give his time and advice to anyone that asked. We are all better for knowing Lee, and we are all a bit lost without him.

Lee, along with his wife Kathy, was a force to be reckoned with – tireless advocates and supporters of Susan G. Komen from the time of Lee’s diagnosis in 2005.  Through the Komen 3-Day event, they raised more than $450,000 to fight this disease.  The Giller family is a beacon of light and hope for all those touched by breast cancer.

The staff and board of Susan G. Komen Northeast Ohio are holding the Giller family in our hearts and sending love, prayers and support to all.  We will continue on in our steadfast commitment toward a world without breast cancer, inspired by Lee’s legacy and in honor of his wonderful family.
